HE
IS
Travis Crivaro

A
jack-of-all trades in the service industry.
GETTING
AROUND TOWN
When
the Waterfront Hilton opened on Pacific Coast Highway,
Travis Crivaro was there. He worked his way through
the ranks at the hotel where his duties included room
service, catering and working the restaurant and bar.The
flexibility was what he liked most."It's nice not
to have a set time schedule every day," Crivaro
said.
Crivaro, it seems, can't walk down the streets of Huntington
Beach with out running into someone who recognizes him
from somewhere - not only did he use to work at the
Waterfront Hilton, he works at the Huntington Beach
BeerCompany, as both a server and bartender for the
past nine years."We get a lot of customers in the
restaurant, so you can't help but get to know these
people," he said.
STUDYING
HIS TRADE
Born and raised in Huntington Beach, Crivaro says he
has gained valuable trade knowledge during his 13 years
in the service industry. "I like to do different
things and the service industry has many options,"
he said.
Crivaro said the only things that have been at the brewery
longer than he are the "bar stools and the owner."
But while he has been working the restaurant/bar he
has continued to find new adventures in the service
industry.
TRAVELING
ROAD SHOW
Crivaro has balanced his duties at the brewery with
About Town Bartending, a portable bartending
service. In this mobile service, Crivaro says, "we
bring the party to you."Crivaro says he works wedding
receptions, corporate parties, grand openings, and on
private estates, among other events. He also worked
Halloween- "those parties are just around the corner"-
Super Bowl and New Years Eve parties. He says he has
worked parties with as few as eight people, to a gathering
of more than 3,000."I say there are 25 reasons
to party 365 days a year," said Crivaro, who turned
29 Wednesday. "I am able to meet all types of people
at all types of different events. The job is never the
same. My job is to help keep things running smoothly
at these parties. It's a great job."In his spare
time - and yes, he finds spare time - Crivaro loves
to surf and create music.
WHEELS
KEEP ON TURNING
Crivaro and Guy Scharff, who also works with About
Town Bartending, plan to open up their own bar in
the Orange County area in the near future."That's
in the works right now," he said. "I've been
in the service industry for so long, and this seems
like a natural progression."
