About Town Bartending Service
Licensed Mobile Bartending Services

By Edie, The Salsa FREAK

About Town Bartending is the brainchild of Travis Crivaro and Guy Scharff. Both in the restaurant and bartending industry for over ten years, they realized a unique niche needed to be filled for a licensed mobile bartending service for parties and events.

The problem was where to find quality temporary bartending services for parties and events. Licensed, quality mobile alcohol and bartending services simply did not exist.

"When you host a party, the last thing you want to worry about is mixing drinks for people – especially parties of over 100 people or more." Says Guy Scharff, one of the company’s co-founders. "The host should be mingling – not mixing. Buying the correct type and amounts of liquor can be nerve racking. Unless you’re a very experienced bartender, how on earth do you know what the majority of people like to drink, much less how to mix it for them, and in what quantities?"

My biggest problem would be the types of glasses to use… plastic or glass, tall or small, champagne, wine, or shot? Being a non-drinker, this would be literally impossible for me to figure out. I’d rather leave it to an expert… but where would I find one?

An Interview with Master Mind Co-Founders Guy Scharff and Travis Crivaro

Q: How and when did the both of you meet?
TRAVIS: Guy and I met years ago on a ski trip at Big Bear mountain and have been friends every since.
Q: What gave you the idea of creating such a complete mobile bartending service?
GUY:  Dave Forman with Pourmasters inspired us to serve the California area.
Q: How many years of combined experience do you both have?
TRAVIS: 32 years
Q: What kind of experience do you both have?
TRAVIS: Everything from running and working in night clubs, bars, micro brewery's, banquets, room service, weddings, sales, fine dining, and 5 star 5 diamond hotel management.
Q: Do you currently have a liquor license ?
GUY: We are ABC licensed and carry a million dollar insurance policy .
Q: What areas do you currently service?
TRAVIS: From Santa Barbara to San Diego, all of Southern California.
Q: What is the minimum and maximum amount of party-go’ers you service?
GUY: Anywhere from 50 to 5000 people
Q: What type of Themed parties have you done and are prepared for?
GUY: We can customize our bars to any theme, but are currently doing a lot of surfboard, safari, disco, and margarita bars
Q: What is the advantage of going to your company for a service, rather than hiring a catering company?
TRAVIS: Going to a specialist can save the client money because beverages are primary focus. In addition this allows us to provide a level of service that few can achieve by concentrating in one area, instead of trying to organize the whole party.
Q: You seem to have filled a niche that is very badly needed. How have your clients responded to your services?
GUY: We have had an overwhelming welcome from both caterer's, wedding coordinators, and event planners.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
GUY: Go big
